PROFILE
· Name: Charlie Crews · Age: 36 · Year of Birth: 1972 · Gender: Male · Occupation: Homicide detective, LAPD
CHARACTER INFORMATION
Biography: Charlie Crews used to be a by-the-book cop, in the words of his ex-partner. Just looking for his pension. Normal guy, normal life. Beautiful wife. That is, until he was convicted of triple homicide - the murders of his friend (with whom he co-owned a bar), his friend's wife, and their young son. Railroaded by the police, convicted in the court of public opinion, and abandoned by his friends, Charlie spent twelve years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. As a cop in jail, he got more than his share of inmate violence, and spent a lot of time between the prison infirmary and solitary confinement. He gave up on life, in there, and when a lawyer named Constance Griffiths decided to take Charlie's case, Charlie almost refused. Constance was persistent, though, and her persistence prompted a review of the available evidence. None of it matched Charlie. As soon as the case went through, Charlie was out of prison - with a fifty million dollar settlement and a new detective's badge. His role on the police force wasn't without problems. His new partner, Dani Reese, was a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, his lieutenant was more determined to find an excuse to throw him out than find a way to use him as a cop, and the people who set him up for those murders - not to mention the actual murderer him- or herself - were still out there. Nevertheless, he pushed through. Being a cop used to be everything he knew, and that was all he wanted to go back to.
'VERSES
· Charlie enters from just after the end of first season, in canon. He did, in fact, find the man who really committed the murders for which he was blamed. That man has been arrested, and put in jail - but Charlie doesn't quite remember this. Nor does he really remember Dani Reese or Ted Earley. They all feel like strangely distant dreams. At the moment, he unconsciously assumes that he transferred to the San Francisco Police Department, probably from Los Angeles, after he was released from jail. · Canon Charlie's canon 'verse, as evident, follows current Life TV show canon. This is the universe used for random RP. Incidentally, I'd love to find more muses who play in Life canon. Charlie is also available for smaller storylines.
